Govardhan also called to Giriraj mountain descended its name from the Holy Goverdhan Hill. It extends upto 4 or 5 miles and has many sacred sites.
Govardhan is located in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, 208km from Delhi. It is one of the main religious places of Mathura.
Lord Sri Krishna is associated with several religious places in Mathura and Vrindavan. It is said that Lord Krishna held Govardhan Hill on his little finger to save the town from wrath of the god of rains Indra.
